The Soul Journey night takes us on an expedition through Chinese materia medica and holistic healing practices: the soul leaves the body in search of the highest mysteries. Raw materials from urban markets and apothecaries are transformed by David Laris into dreamlike structures, astral bodies and sculptures where body and soul interface. The bizarre dishes, excessively rich in healing properties, are ingested in a manner reminiscent of an act of worship, a shamanistic ritual, and accompanied by the showing of a film in which the actor Klaus Kinski is in ecstasy. We cannot know where the journey will end.
