My exhibition Gefilte Fish at the Complesso Museale Ebraico, Casale Monferrato, will be opened at Chanukah, the Jewish Festival of Lights. The exhibition is organized by the Museum of the Synagogue of Casale, for which I created a bronze menorah. In allusion to ancient art and culinary rites, the exhibition comprises oil paintings and overpainted photographs anarchically staged around a sacrificial altar in homage to religious sacrifice. Prior to the exhibition I will be giving a multi-course dinner at the Casa Aldo Mondino, Casazze, Altavilla Monferrato, my current home. At the dinner, which has its roots in Jewish cuisine, I will be serving dishes that I once cooked for my friend Aldo, who sadly passed away, and that I reinterpret in reference to his person and his artwork. Tables will be set in his atelier for 70 persons, and Bernhard Böhler, Roland Adlassnigg and I will be cooking together in Aldo’s kitchen. Prior reservations are required. Price (including wine): € 30.
Nella casa Aldo Mondino, Casazze, Altavilla Monferrato preparo con un menu composto da diversi piatti che affondano le loro radici nella tradizione della cucina ebraica; piatti che ho cucinato per il mio caro amico Aldo Mondino. L' Iscrizione è necessaria, in relazione anche ai posti limitati, vista la forma privata della performance. Il costo del pranzo, vini compresi, è di euro 30. Dopo viene inaugurato la mia mostra Gefillte Fisch presso il Complesso Museale Ebraico di Casale Monferrato. Ho disegnato una Chanuccha per il museo dei Lumi alla sinagoga di casale, che organizza questa mostra. La mostra presenta anche quadri su olio, diverse collage e un altare del sacrifico rituale di Isacco, una messinscena di arte e cucina. |
